Thesephysicalcharacteristitensity,dpolarizatioeobeusedtodiseasure,andtotrolpropertiesofmaterialsubstahereforetoformthebasisofahostoftandmanipulatingmatterandevensmallobjetheexamplesabove,lightalmostallaystheroleofaninformatioheritisganimageoraspectrumoraphoion,itactsasamesselightalsobeusedinanactiveway.Foriheheatiiesoflightbeusedtocutmetalaerialsveryprecisely.Thickplatesofmetal,uptoatimetreorso,bemaedusinghigh-powerlasersmorerapidly,withahigherqualityfinishae,thanusingasaw.Andlightisusedinmedivariousways,frvisihlasersurgerytoagdrugsforaherapies.
